After purchasing our dream block of land in Silky Oak Estate Wodonga, we were after the perfect house to go with it. During 2013 we visited a huge number of display homes throughout Victoria and even some in Queensland when holidaying there. We were disappointed to find that most designs were very similar and none of them suited the shape and aspect of our block.
We were excited to see Gary Hosies new display home open in White Box Rise, as Gary Hosie had been recommended to us by a friend, but we had not known how to contact him. We visited the display within days of it opening and were impressed by the quality of the workmanship and the variety of house designs that were available. Gary Hosie offered to meet with us the following day to help us find the perfect plan. At this first meeting we were very impressed with his efficiency and eagerness to help us. He had already visited the block and so knew what we were after. We looked at modifying a plan and asked the all important questions about cost. We were amazed when Gary got back to us just 3 hours later with a preliminary costing! Some builders we had been dealing with had taken over a month to get to this stage. We were VERY impressed.
We were not in a hurry to start building and still were not sure that the plan met our unique needs so we took the step of engaging an independent Draftsman to draw up a custom plan for us. Once we were happy with this plan, we took it to 5 different builders to be quoted on. Gary Hosie was one of these. Once again we were amazed at the efficiency of Gary’s service as he had a comprehensive quote back to us within a few days. (We are still waiting for a quote from one of the others!!) Gary’s quote was most competitive, and coupled with his eagerness to build our home and his personal and professional service, it was an easy choice to sign with him. We particularly liked the fact that we were dealing directly with the Local builder and owner of the company and that he was able to offer us some amazing extra inclusions such as double glazing and triple sliding doors to our alfresco area.
This home is the first one that we have had built for us and so it was all a new experience for us. Gary was very patient in answering all our questions and providing guidance in all areas of the build. We were able to have regular access to the house as it was being constructed and any areas of concern were addressed immediately. We were able to contact Gary easily and he always got back to us promptly. We were regularly kept up to date with all progress and informed of any areas of unavoidable delay. While the house was being built we also had a shed built on the block and Gary was most helpful in giving us guidance and support with site preparations and working with the shed contractors to ensure a smooth process.
Gary Hosie and his team were very flexible and were happy to accommodate the many changes and upgrades we decided on throughout the build. Colour schemes and fittings did not have to be decided on before the house began, so we were able to choose what was most appropriate as it was needed. Gary also gave us many good suggestions for inclusions along the way, such as the 3LED solar lights in areas where we were going to put skylights. We have been very happy with these innovations.
Overall, building with Gary Hosie and his team from Albury Wodonga has been an excellent experience for us and we are absolutely thrilled with our beautiful house. It is everything that we want in a home and is meeting all of our needs perfectly. The quality of the build is exceptional and we have had no structural problems at all. Follow up service has also been great and we feel free to contact Gary with any concerns or questions in regard to the house.
We have no hesitation in recommending Gary Hosie and his team to anyone who is wanting personal service from a quality local builder at an excellent price.
